Crazy Relatives – We All Have at Least One

An interesting editorial appeared in the Winnipeg SUN today. The article points out an interesting little Shell Game that liberals have been playing on Canadians for quite some time now. Maybe you have noticed that when budget surpluses grow, the liberals lie to Canadians and say there is no money for tax cuts or health care. Then after the liberals have spent months telling Canadians there is no extra money, $4.5 billion magically appears to buy off the NDP and stay in power. Canadians never seem to know the truth about the nation’s finances, but the state of our treasury seems to mirror the liberal agenda at any given moment in time.

This column in the Winnipeg SUN exposes this shell game in an easy to understand way. Below is an excerpt from the article.

Martin's Shell Game

Just about every family has a crazy relative who has big, pie-in-the-sky plans for himself and everyone he knows. Except that he can't even keep track of his own money, or do a simple household budget.

For Canadians, that relative is crazy uncle Paul Martin, prime minister of Canada. Under Martin, annual federal budget projections have become a running national joke.

The projected surplus bounces around wildly. One minute, it's $9.8 billion. That's what the federal Finance Department projected in May for the last fiscal year. The next, it's $1.6 billion. That's what the Liberals announced this week.

One minute they solemnly tell us the cupboard is bare. The next, they've magically found $4.5 billion to buy the NDP's support in a minority parliament.

Martin, both as finance minister and now as PM, is also notorious for lowballing revenues so he has lots of our money to bribe us with, particularly during elections.

Jeez, Mike - I thought that you would be whining about Loewen dumping the Cons and his impending victory over your boy Fletcher. Maybe you were too busy emptying the "great man's" poop bag.
Of course, you might have been busy writing more "Jap" jokes for Fletcher. Yup, those always work well on the hustings.

Hmm, that it is normally the kind of overly personal comment I would delete from this blog. But in this case I think I'll leave it up. Exposing liberals is 9/10ths of the battle. Having leftist show us who they are and what they are all about with comments like the above, is the other 10%. If only people would have the guts to post as something other than anonymous though.

Dontcha hate it when commenters think the objective is to comment on whatever pops into their heads. Maybe the concepts of analysis, opinion, debate and conversation are beyond their grasp.

And as for crazy relatives --the crazy ones in the family are those who keep believing the mad uncle's lies.
